Since June 2003, I've had the honour (& the pleasure!!) to have performed over 200 marriages - everything from "at-home elopements" all the way up to "Princess Diana-style".
I'm a "secular officiant" - that means the standard ceremony I perform is 'traditional' - it's a civil ceremony - a ceremony not ruled by religious restrictions, yet it's still a ceremony with emotions & spirit. (It's the regularly accepted "..with this ring, I thee wed..." and the "...I take you to be my..." ceremony you read in novels & hear in movies).
A "secular officiant" also means freedom - unlike religious ceremonies, you're free to include what you two want in your ceremony. Some couples add things, others don't. This day is about you two, not about what religious leaders want you two to have on your special day.
The celebration (and the planning of this celebration) can sometimes be stressful. Part of everyone's stress is "finances" (i.e. money perhaps better devoted to other necessities as your life together begins; my fee reflects my understanding of this & my belief that marriage be accessible to all).
As a "secular" officiant, performing ceremonies through The Office of The Registrar-General of Ontario (click here to verify my licence on the Ontario gov't website), I welcome all couples in southwestern Ontario. I'm happy to travel throughout Essex-Kent-Lambton counties to perform your marriage ceremony.
