Marriages
Bullit   Before anyone can get married in Ontario, they need to get a marriage licence from City Hall or from a Municipal Service Centre.

Bullit   If either of you two have had an earlier out-of-Canada divorce, they'll make you go through a few hoops and hurdles before they'll give you a marriage licence.

Bullit   You can obtain more information about this on the Ontario government website here.

Bullit    Before connecting with any lawyers (unless you're very comfortable with her/him), you might want to connect with me - I can suggest a lawyer based on other couples experiences.

Bullit    I don't get any "cuts" - but I do have some horror stories about lawyers who didn't know what they were doing or what the government required from them (and the final horror of the bill the couple got presented with at the end of it all).

Bullit    I've been referring couples to a lawyer who's:
     ~ reliable
~ very reasonably priced (the lowest fees I've heard of)
~ for most couples, he does the paperwork "at a distance" (i.e. "Fedex-ing", over-the-phone, etc.)
~ most important, because all the couples who've used him, swear by him - they had nothing but good things to say about him.

Bullit   So, unless you feel comfortable with whom you're using, I'm happy to pass along his contact info to you.
